Choose where to keep your photos and videos
Dropbox has no problems importing my photos, but Photos does. I can see my iPhone connected, but I can't see any photos on my iPhone as you can see from this image: (The name 'Hold Me, Touch Me' is a reference to movie 'The Producers' with Zero Mostel.). As you can see, the name of my iPhone shows up, but not the 168 pictures on the phone.
- Image Capture on iMac says 9000 images on iPhone. Select destination folder to USB stick. On destination folder, I can see the import keeps going and surpasses the original 9000 mark from Image Capture, and keeps copying copying I dunno what. How can more than 9000 items be copied if Image.

- Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac with a USB cable.
- Open the Photos app.
- The Photos app shows an Import screen with all the photos and videos that are on your connected device. If the Import screen doesn't automatically appear, click the device's name in the Photos sidebar.
- If asked, unlock your iOS device using your passcode. If you see a prompt on your iOS device asking you to Trust This Computer, tap Trust to continue.
- Either select the photos you want to import and click Import Selected, or click Import All New Photos.
- Wait for the process to finish, then disconnect your device from your Mac.

Import to your PC
You can import photos to your PC by connecting your device to your computer and using the Windows Photos app:
- Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your PC. Importing photos to your PC requires iTunes 12.5.1 or later.

- If asked, unlock your iOS device using your passcode.

7 Steps to Import Images
- Connect the device from which you want to transfer images/photos to Mac.
- The system will ask you to unlock or trust the device.

- Select your device under DEVICES or SHARED in the left pane.

Fix 1: show hidden device.

- Please click 'Show device settings' if you didn't see the pop-up menu.
Fix 2: unplug & re-plug iPhone.
